The picture updates every 10 minutes Welcome to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, elevation 7,500 feet. The webcam is aimed at the San Juan Mountains, north of town, home of the Weminuche Wilderness Area, almost 500,000 acres of land left virtually untouched. In the distance, the mountains rise to an altitude of over 14,000 feet. Occasionally, primarily in the morning from about 7:30 until 9:00, you'll see a hot air balloon floating by. Sometimes they land in the fields around our home in the country. You may also see a herd of elk or deer as they pass through - and occasionally munch on all the trees, flowers and shrubs we've planted. For those of you wondering what the strange thing is poking out above the trees, it's my 4 element SteppIR antenna, with the 30/40 meter add-on kit, atop a US Tower TX-455 55 foot tower.
